The Tata Group on Thursday launched its super app Tata New to bring all its brands on a single platform as it is currently one of the leading players in the Indian e-commerce space dominated by the likes of Amazon and Flipkart. wants to play the lead role.
In a social media post, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said Tata New combines the group’s traditional consumer-first approach with the modern ethos of technology.
He wrote on LinkedIn, “Today is a new day! Tata Digital, the youngest member of the Tata family, brings you the Tata New today.”
The group has been testing the app since last year as it prepares to play a bigger role in the fast-growing e-commerce space. It had acquired online players in various segments, including grocery delivery platform BigBasket and 1Mg, an online pharmacy.
Chandrasekaran said, “Tata New is an exciting platform that combines all our brands into one powerful app. Combining our traditional consumer-first approach with cutting-edge technology, it is a new way to discover the wonderful world of Tata. “
He further added, “We aim to make the lives of Indian consumers simple and easy. Power of choice, a seamless experience and loyalty will be at the heart of Tata New, providing a powerful One Tata experience.” As the Tata New App goes live today (April 7) Chandrasekaran said, “I am proud to see many of our trusted and favorite brands like Air Asia, BigBasket, Croma, IHCL, Cumin, Starbucks, Tata 1mg, Tata Cliq Tata Play, Westside already on the Tata New platform, and Vistara, Air India, Titan, Tanishq, Tata Motors joining soon.” Welcoming customers to the “New World”, he said, “We look forward to continuously learning, evolving and meeting the needs of our consumers.”
