Ola Electric, the electric vehicle arm of taxi provider, has announced that it has sold electric scooters worth Rs 1,100 crore in the first two days of sale. The company has started online sales of the Ola electric scooter, which will be available for sale from September 15 with two variants of S1 and S1 Pro. The company has sold this electric scooter for only 48 hours i.e. till 16 September 2021. When the company started booking electric scooters in July 2021, priority is now being given to customers who have booked them.
In an official statement issued by the company, Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO, Ola Group said, “In two days we have achieved total sales of Rs 1,100 crore! This is unprecedented not only in the automotive industry but also in Indian history.
On the first day of online sale, the company sold electric scooters worth over Rs 600 crore. When the next sale starts, customers will have to pay Rs 20,000 in advance. However, if you miss the purchase on the current date, you can book your slot the next day starting November 1, 2021 for Rs 499.
The ex-showroom price of Ola S1 is Rs 1 lakh which goes up to Rs 1.30 lakh for the S1 Pro. These prices will be reduced as per the subsidy given by the state at the time of distribution of electric scooters. Ola will start supplying electricity to 1,000 cities and towns across the country from October 2021. The base model of the Ola electric scooter comes with a maximum speed of 90 km/h and a range of 121 on a single charge, while the S1 Pro has a top speed of 115 km/h and can run up to 181 km.
