Intel launched a new chip for blockchain applications such as bitcoin mining and mining NFTs to capitalize on the growing use of cryptocurrencies. The chip will ship later this year and the first customers include Block, the Jack Dorsey-led firm that recently changed its name from Square to highlight its growing focus on blockchain.
Blockchains serve as public ledgers that record transactions over a network of computers and have grown in prominence in recent years. Their rise has also sparked discussions about terms such as “Web3” and “NFT” that tout the decentralization of technologies.
Intel said its chip is an energy-efficient “accelerator” designed to accelerate blockchain tasks that require large amounts of computing power and thus consume a lot of energy.
Chip designer Nvidia, whose graphics cards are widely used for mining activities, also has a separate chip for Ethereum mining.
As part of further expanding its footprint in the space, Intel has also created a new segment within its Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics business unit called the Custom Computer Group.
As noted in an earlier report from Tom’s Hardware, Intel has been working on entering the bitcoin market for quite some time. In 2018, the US Patent and Trademark Office awarded the chip giant a patent for efficiently mining cryptocurrencies that use the SHA-256 algorithm. Intel also disclosed a small stake in major cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase in August 2021.
Unlike CPUs or GPUs, which are geared towards multiple use-cases, an ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) is a type of chip designed for a specific type of task. They only do one thing, but they should be particularly good at it.
That said, Intel will face stiff competition from Bitmain and MicroBT, the world’s largest manufacturers of bitcoin mining hardware.

Apple iPhone 12 has received huge discounts on Amazon and interested buyers can now get it with a starting price of Rs 42,999. The device was earlier selling for Rs 59,900 on this e-commerce site, which basically means that customers are getting a discount of Rs 16,901 during Amazon’s big Diwali sale.Amazon is running its Great Indian Festival sale, which is now live for Prime members and all sale deals will be available to everyone from tomorrow. The sale will continue till the end of the month. In such a situation, if you are planning to buy a new device, then you should buy it now.
Keep in mind that the prices of iPhones on both Amazon and Flipkart are fluctuating. So, it is better to buy as soon as possible whenever you are looking at the listed devices at a low price. The iPhone 12 is currently listed on Amazon at a discounted price of Rs 42,999. But, there is also a discount of Rs 1,250 on SBI Bank credit cards. Is iPhone 12 worth buying in India?
Well, the iPhone 12 is currently on sale for Rs 42,999 without any bank cards or any other offers. I would say Rs 8,991 can cost more then you should buy iPhone 13 as iPhone 12 is quite old now. The new iPhone 14 is the same as last year’s model. So, it is better to buy the iPhone 13 at a lower price and still feel like using the latest version of the iPhone. The original price of the iPhone 13 is Rs 69,900, but Flipkart is now selling it for Rs 51,990 during its Big Billion Days sale. Also, if your budget is between Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000, you can avail the exchange offer on Flipkart to get more discounts. People may also consider selling their phones to Cashify, as it usually offers better deals. The iPhone 12 is still a capable smartphone if your budget is limited. A good enough camera and general performance is to be expected. However, keep in mind that no one gets a charger with an iPhone. In such a situation, customers will have to spend more on it.

What does Samsung believe on Apple iPhone 14?
, Samsung praised Apple’s boxy design and did a little damage control. “Good. A little boxy, but good. We like a round shape ourselves. Classic. Apple has maintained a respectful silence on Samsung’s frequent jibs for its designs.
Samsung and Apple, two of the two biggest competitors in the smartphone market, launched their premium products in a span of a month. While Samsung’s foldable series was appreciated for its innovative and futuristic design, the design of the Apple iPhone 14 received mixed responses. Samsung had earlier pulled up Apple in a new video ad for not having a foldable phone in its line-up, and has now asked users to notify them when Apple launches a foldable phone. The tweet was a clear dig at Apple’s lack of innovation in terms of design.
Taking a jibe at the Apple iPhone 14, Samsung US’ official Twitter account posted, “Let us know when it folds. In another tweet, Samsung praised Apple’s boxy design and did a little damage control. “Good. A little boxy, but good. We like a round shape ourselves. Classic. Apple has maintained a respectful silence on Samsung’s frequent jibs for its designs.
Apple doesn’t currently have a foldable phone, but that clearly doesn’t mean it never will. If industry insiders are to be believed, Apple is developing a foldable device, which could start somewhere around 2023. Until then, Samsung needs to hold its horse because once Cupertino-Giant launches a foldable phone, Samsung will face stiff competition in the market.

Incidentally, the iPhone 14 not only looks like the iPhone 13, but also has the same A15 Bionic chipset, with different core GPUs. The iPhone 14 has also got new colors such as icy blue and
